Crowd funding arrives in the Isle of Man
A new service to help individuals or groups promote and manage a fundraising campaign online has been launched in the Isle of Man, the website operates a crowd funding model that has become extremely popular in the USA and is rapidly gaining a following in the UK, but what exactly is crowd funding?Nicole Bodell, founder of www.letscrowdit.com explained, “Crowd funding is essentially a way for people to raise funds for a project that is of a creative, community or cultural nature from likeminded people who support them with donations in exchange for small rewards. If the project meets it funding goal by its deadline date the pre-approved donations are collected from the backers’ credit cards and, after the deduction of fees, is paid to the project sponsor. If the project fails to meet its goal by the deadline date the project expires all pre-approved donations are cancelled and no money is paid by anyone.
